A JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES BEGINS WITH A SINGLE STEP

Meet Winston
My name is Winston McGill and I’m a Certified Life Coach, as well as a graduate of the International Coaching Academy. It’s my philosophy that our lives are a manifestation of our beliefs and self-statements. As a retired Public Safety professional, it’s important to me that my approach is pragmatic and down-to-earth. Years of responding to life-threatening emergencies has taught me that problems are solved with realness and sensibility. Issues related to motivation, self-worth, avoidance, consistency, fulfillment, and discipline are no different.
Finding a purpose in life is the motivation that can keep us energized and motivated. Based on my own experience, I was forced to retire due to an age limit arbitrarily set at 64. I experienced first-hand the demoralizing feelings that ageism, like sexism and racism can cause. I had to reflect deeply and repurpose myself from someone who had spent my adult life in uniform to someone who still wanted to make a positive contribution to my fellow humans, but in a different capacity. I decided that life coaching was to be my new purpose. I know what it’s like to lose sight of your purpose and I’m deeply aware how important purpose is as we age and transition into the new and exciting phase of Positive Ageing.
My services will guide you through a process of self-discovery. Often, the ‘right answers’ elude us. It’s my job to ask the right questions. If we start there, we’ll find the answers waiting for us inside you. However, insight alone isn’t enough for change. We must all, at some point, commit to action. This can feel impossible at times. We get stuck in ‘analysis paralysis’ or fear-based procrastination. I offer an informed and reliable reorientation to self-accountability.
You may be waiting for your motivation to arrive, as if it was just running late. You may be waiting to feel ‘better’ before finally making that decision to act. But, here’s the thing; it’s not coming. MAKING change happen is what brings motivation and purpose. As difficult as it feels, we must create and practice the behaviors we desire. It’s my intention to help you cultivate and sustain the healthy choices you seek to make for yourself.
I look forward to walking with you on this journey.
